Kumu
Hula Hokulani Holt, together with members of the acclaimed hula drama,
Kahekili, presented the life and times of the great chief Kahekilinuiahumanu.
Through discussions, examples of chant, kahiko (traditional hula), and
Hawaiian martial arts, the influence and greatness of Kahekili will be
shared. One of Mauis paramount chiefs, Kahekili's kingdom included
all of the islands except Hawai'i Island. His influential rule provided
the gateway for Kamehameha the Great to eventually unify all of Hawaii.
