Thanks to all who attended the
Kahekili performance at the Four Season's Lodge at Koele on Sunday, May 25th. This moving event featured excerpts from the stage show and a wonderful talk story! We enjoyed a standing room only crowd of 195 for this amazing look at the origins of Hawaiian dance and a peek into the revered history of the islands.

Kumu Hula Hokulani Holt, together with members of the acclaimed hula drama, Kahekili, presented the life and times of the great chief Kahekilinuiahumanu. Through discussions, examples of chant, kahiko (traditional hula), and Hawaiian martial arts, the influence and greatness of Kahekili will be shared. One of Maui’s paramount chiefs, Kahekili's kingdom included all of the islands except Hawai'i Island. His influential rule provided the gateway for Kamehameha the Great to eventually unify all of Hawai‘i.
Open to the public, FREE to all!
